The First Good Karma Garden!
Good Karma Gardening brings together a group of wonderful willing volunteers from all walks of life, some of whom are experienced and non-experienced gardeners & , landscape architects to speed up what might otherwise be overwhelming
task for one person to do such as pulling up a section of their front yard/grass, hauling free mulch to enrich the soil, suggestions which seasonal plants to grow or placement of plants and building boxes. There’s absolutely no pressure what to grow
and the planting part can be left entirely up to the recipient.
I was fortunate enough to watch some wooden- garden- boxes being built at my apt. and was able to help in the process and loved the experience as I’m confident I could build my own now.
GKG has allowed me, an apt. dweller to have fresh organic vegetables and often neighbors/friends/ share in the bounty. I can come home from work and not have to run to the store but instead walk out behind her apt. and pick what is in season, lettuce, tomatoes, basil, celery, sweet peas, chard, cilantro, parsley, carrots, kale, spinach. Also, my grandson loves to assist in watering and just being with grandma in the garden and hopefully it will rub off on him.
